Market Tour & Skip the Line Frida Kahlo House Museum

For 2.5 hours before your museum entry, a small group of up to 10 walks Coyoacan's markets, plazas and side streets, tasting the dishes that define daily life here, including pozole, antojitos, roasted cacao turned into chocolate, and pulque, while learning why each one matters and not just how it tastes.

The walk moves through the Mercado de Antojitos and Mercado 89, past the Fuente de los Coyotes, the Parroquia de San Juan Bautista and Coyoacan's town hall, tracing the neighborhood's shift from an outlying pueblo into the artistic and political center it became under Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. You'll taste cacao roasted the traditional way, then ground into chocolate on a machine still used a century later, and, if you're up for it, try edible insects at a family stall that has sold them for generations.

This experience treats Coyoacan as the main event: the food, the history and Frida's own story are woven together from the first stop, not saved for the walk to the ticket booth. Groups stay small, 10 guests at most, so there's room for questions and a slower pace. Vegetarian options and some dietary adjustments are available with advance notice. Your Casa Azul ticket is arranged ahead of time, and your guide walks you to the entrance for your reserved slot.
